THE ENDING: How did you respond to the ending of the story? Why/why not did you find the ending satisfying? Explain what conflicts got resolved, and what issues remain unresolved for the Kawashima family. Why do you think Yoko chose to end the book there?
The first thing I said was " That was it?" I kind of like the ending because she got to see her brother. But we still never found out how she met her father and how he escaped from the prison. Also how do they finally get out of poverty? I guess we will never know. Still I think Yoko left it at a cliff hanger so that we would read her next book.
The complaints that I have are that were how did Mr. Nadio turn out? Where was her father being held prisoner at? Does Ko get married? You know stuff like that. Still I wish that they told us more. Still I think that the book was very good and I really want read the second book.
2. Despite all their hardships, the Kawashima family takes time out throughout the course of the novel to observe certain Japanese customs in the traditional manner. Why do you think they do this? What purpose does it serve in their lives? If you were in their family's position, which customs or rituals do you think you and your family would still observe?
The customs that they still keep is how they celebrate New Year's. They ate rice cakes and had green tea. I really liked how Yoko bought Ko green tea and Ko bought Yoko rice cakes. Even though they were poor they still wanted to celebrate New Year's. If I were in their position I would still make sweet potato pie and celebrate Kwanzaa.
3. Which character in the novel do you respect and admire the most? Give specific reasons for your choice.
The character I admire the most is Ko. When their mother died she had to tale over and so she had a lot of stress on her. She also has to feed Yoko and herself, pay the school , keep her and Yoko warm and a ton of other things. Also the fact that she never got to say goodbye to her mother before she died and she took it really hard, but she didn't let her emotions get the best of her so she could take care of Yoko.
4. What did you learn about history from this novel? In 1-2 paragraphs, share some of the historical content you found new and/or interesting as we read the novel. What do you still want to learn, or what questions do you still have?
What I've learned from this book is how to be grateful of what you have. All of the pain and suffering that Yoko and her family went through. Also I learned how to dry out food and other stuff. I found out that the Japanese had taken over Korea for over 50 years and how they ruled them.
5. What lesson(s) about human nature can you learn from this novel? In other words, discuss the theme(s).
Be happy of what you have. You could be running for your life at this moment. So don't be whining that you didn't get your Wii or Mp3 player because that was what you wanted for Christmas. So would rather have bombs being thrown on you or be a little disappointed that you didn't get what you want. So embrace today and be happy!

Bamboo Post #3
1. Why do you think Yoko wants to help Mr. Nahido? How and why does he help her? What do they have in common?
The reason Yoko helps Mr. Niado because he's the only friend she has. He also saves her paper, ink, art supplies, and many other things. She loves to talk to him and he doesn't call her " Rag Doll" or " Trash Picker." Mr. Nahido likes to help Yoko because he has someone to talk to that doesn't make fun of his stuttering, Yoko is also helping him clear his voice. She as well picks up cans from the ground and gives them to him for him to sell, when she could be selling the cans herself (because we all know she needs every cent she earns). The thing they have in common is that they're outcasts to the snobby girls in the school and they love to make fun of them. Also the both of them know what it's like not to live very rich.
2. Finding out about Ko's "idea" is a turning point for Yoko. Explain how this incident is a turning point for her. What does she realize at that moment? How does her attitude change?
When she sees Ko shining people's shoe for so that she can rice cakes for the new year Yoko feels honored to have such a kind and generous sister. When Yoko sees the hard work she knows that Ko is doing it for her. So she really want to show how happy was she for Ko being such a good big sister and looking out for Yoko and making sure there is food on the table.
3. Write your own: Remember, no easy answers? Ask those tough how and why questions to create discussions in your group. DON'T FORGET: Offer your own answer as well.
Yoko hasn't thought about her father that much, but soon after she does. Why do you think Yoko forgot about her father and why did she suddenly think of him?
I think it's because she been running for her life and was wondering if she was going to live or die. But when she safe she starts to think about her life in Korea and misses her father.

1.
a) Well, they needed to leave because Ko saw soldiers raping women. Thus she knew they had to get out of there because herself, sister, and mother were all women (expect for Yoko) and the soldiers would gladly do them. Also they didn't have their brother to protect them. Also the train to Pusan would lead them to a boat to Japan.
b) I agree with their decision to leave Hideyo. They would be no use to Hideyo if they were killed. they needed to get to a safe place. They also knew that Hideyo could take care of himself. I thought it was very wise of them.
2. Why do you think that Yoko started to toughen up? Give me 2 example from the book. Also if you were in this situation how would YOU react?

1. Hideo to me is very...courageous, but a little head strong. Like when he wanted to join the Japan army. I thought he was going a little to far. Still he cares for his family and will do anything to protect his mother and sisters. He is very educated, smart and I think he will be a very good leader. He also responsible in that he does what he's told and like when he purposely failed the test because he know he had to watch over his sisters and mother than die in battle that would be over in a few days anyway.
2. I would bring dried out pomegranates because when dried out it can last for years, dried out food of any kind so it would last for many days, tent for shelter, machete for cutting brush in case you go off trail and sometime a weapon, jugs full of water, first aid kit, lots of coats and blankets, writing materials or a diary in case of directions or just to write things done and to look back on it, small cooking kits to cook food, lantern for light, rope and a hunting knife for to tie things and to cut things, pocket knife for cutting, eating and other things, a bible for faith and hope, soap to wash, a map and compass to tell where you're going, combs in keep your hair decent, money to buy things, tarp for when it rain and you can use it as a blanket when it's not raining, and so clothes to wear.
3. I really became upset when the nurse threw out the dead baby and then the mother jumped out to save her baby. I thought that is was very disturbing. If she really loved baby so much that she take her own life to just to hold a dead baby.

BAMBOO POST #1
1) I find Yoko very kind yet she still acts like a girl her age. I thought it was nice of her to leave the new mother all her food in her sack. Still she whines and has food she likes and doesn't like, and complains that her feet hurt when they've been walking for a long time. I really feel like I can relate to her, she loves to help people yet she's not a saint.
2) Ko and Yoko are like normal sisters. Ko's the older one so she's kind of in charge of Yoko. Also Yoko doesn't like to be bossed around so she sometime disobeys. When Ko picked up Yoko and carried her all the way across the tracks I thought that it was really nice of Ko.
3)I think they were a little grossed out. Seeing all the ill and the dying would give you the shivers too. I think they were really grossed out when the nurse started throwing all the dead bodies out of the train.

Title: Thousand Pieces of Gold
Author: RuthAnne Lum McCunn
Date: 11-19-07
Pages: 169-308(the end of book)
Time: Four hours
1) I'm finished! After a long 4 hours I finally finished Thousand Pieces of Gold! I have to admit it was sad. Polly or Lulu died in 1933. She died from a horrible fever. Her last words were "Bury me next to Charlie" Charlie was Polly's lover. He died of blood spitting disease, where you cough up blood until you die. He was the only one that made her feel like a woman. He also did anything to protect her. Polly also did anything to keep Charlie alive even when he didn't want to. I guess her worst fear was losing the people she loved.
2) zealous- full of
corset- a close fitting undergarment that makes women's waist look smaller
marriage certificate- to a piece of paper to show that you are married
Chinese- a language spoken by people from China
bandits- robbers

Title: Thousand Pieces of Gold
Author: RuthAnne Lum McCunn
Date: 11-09-07
Pages: 1-169
Time: Three hours
1) I think Thousand Pieces of Gold is much different than Maximum Ride. Thousand Pieces of Gold is more of a drama. Lalu is a very courageous woman just like Max in a way. She will do anything to stay alive and Max will take down a hundred men just to live. Lula also has wits that really helps her when death is at her doorstep.
2)
1. gulches- to sink in
2. bound feet- in China people believed that small feet were beautiful.
3. saloon- where men can gamble, drink and have "fun"
4. golden lotus- a gold item that girls have when they bind their feet
5. brothel- a marriage made for you

Name:Vivian Phillips
Book: Maximum Ride Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports
Author: James Patterson
Date: 11/1/07
Time: 1 hour
Pages: 387-405 (a.k.a. end)
I'm done!!! I really liked Max because she was spunky and a total leader. I would have loved to be her friend. Her and I would soar threw the skies. Also she knows how to kick some B-U-T-T! She really knows how to defend herself and the ones she cared for. With a well placed kick she can break a grown man's ribs that would be beyond repair. Also of course she can fly! If you'd like to learn more about Max and her friends go to: maximumride.com or read a bio about her books on my blog.
OK, Max makes up her own slang, in a way.
Whitecoats: They are crazy people who call themselves "scientists." They did those evil things to Max and her friends. Like when they mixed her DNA with a bird's. That's why she has wings. Anyway these "scientists" are always dressed in white coats
Erasers: Just by the name you know their evil. Their job is to erase anyone that get's into the whitecoat's way (That means Max and her friends). Erasers are like werewolves only thay can change wolfy at will.
The bird: Example: Fang (Max's right hand man and kinda her boyfriend) gave me the bird. Meaning he gave her a very troubled look.
Up, Up, and Away: This is pretty obvious. Flying
Voice: There's a voice in Max's head that talks to her in a way. She knows its not her own also its a male voice as well. She hates talking to it because when it comes it gives her a mind splitting headache. Still it helps her out when she's in trouble.

1) I think it means never let anyone or anything take control of YOUR life. Also that you have the right to do what ever the heck you want (well, maybe not everything).
How this applies to my life is when I was in kindergarten all of my friends always chose a leader. We always did what she said without question (all of my friends were girls). If someone in our group didn't like what the leader did she would be ordered to leave our group. Of course after a few days we'd forget about it and let her back in. I guess this is like the Wave because we had a leader and we had to do whatever she said and never stopped to think. Still we never hurt anyone or anything.
2) Robert...Poor Robert. When they mentioned him in the beginning of the book I felt really sorry for him. Because I knew people like that, but in the middle of the book he really surprised me when he picked of the Wave really quickly. I know his type. Y'know, like when he finally finds something he's good at he takes it to extreme. When he said "Laurie will ruin everything. She must be stopped" I knew he was going to do something to her that he would regret. Still the Wave did some good, now he a little confident about himself and maybe people will stop picking on him.
3)a: I saw fascism in the Wave when they started doing motto and salute every time they saw Mr. Ross as if he was a leader. It became so bad that they did everything he said without thought or when Mr.Ross noticed that they wouldn't do good on a essay.
b:I thinking Saddam Hussein in Iraq. How like he totally destroyed Iraq. I mean they hated him so much that they made a dummy of him and burned it.
4) It's so easy to get into a crowd and really hard to get out. Or at least you do get out, but people pressure you to come back in then so you're back in. How you can get out of the crowd and stay is to tell an adult or principle why you do not like this type of fad. try to make friends that don't want to be in the crowd (maybe you can make a new fad). Also try to tell kids why you don't like the fad maybe they'll stop, but if they don't want to its their choice

2) my favorite sentence is when Mr Ross shows picture of Hitler and he says " There he is. There is your leader!" Then everyone gasps. I think its a really good sentence because finally people see the light. They now know what the Wave has turned into. Soon everybody in the room bursts into tears. Even the boys. I thought it was a really moving scene. Just food for thought.
3) What do you think will happen after the Wave? Do you think people will stop or keep doing behind people's backs?

1)I think Mr. Ross is becoming a little uneasy with his "experiment." I mean I would to. Robert asked to be his bodyguard, they turned the pep rally into the Wave rally, and people are making up orders that they think he told them. Also when he read the Grapevine about the boy getting beat up and when he heard the two teacher's talking about him brainwashing the kids. So he has the right to be afraid.
2) The most interesting sentence in the chapters was "Ross really has these kids brainwashed if you ask me" the unidentified man said "I don't know what the hell he's up to, but I don't like it" I really liked that sentence because Mr. Ross knows something is wrong with the wave and hearing it from another point of view takes it to a whole new level.
3) When Robert said "Laurie most be stopped she'll ruin everything" What do you think Robert had in mind to stop her?

1) Mr. Ross might be losing control on his "experiment" because people are skipping classes just to be in the Wave. Also people are starting to act like "zombies." Like he said people never ask questions and answer without thought. It's starting to get a little creepy.
2)My favorite sentence is " The Wave had apparently been far more successful than he had ever expected. So successful, in fact, that Ben began to suspect that some kids were cutting classes to sit in on his." Now you know a little red flag is going up in your head when kids start cutting classes just for your class. Now if your skipping class its usually so you can miss class and have some fun, but to see a history class about discipline, now that is interesting.
3) Why do you think the principal looked not has happy when Mr. Ross told him all about The Wave? What do you think was going threw his mind?

1)Well, David is kind applying it to his life so he could save his team. Since they'd never won. I think it might work for a while then stab them in the back
2)My favorite quote is "Strength Through Disciple, Strength Through Community." I think it is interesting because if I was in that class I'd want to follow it too. The power threw those words kinda raced threw my mind and made me understand why the kids love it.
3) Do YOU think you would follow The Wave too?

1)The book called the "The Wave" is placed in a school named Gorden High School in 1969. Back then they used typewriter, old film progetors were you had to whind up the film, and say that WWII wasn't to long ago. It different from our school because they have detention, some of the kids smoke, and they have tackle football instead of flag football.
2) I think the most interesting sentence is when they were learning about WWII. In the book it said " Their remains were disposed in ovens" The dead bodies would be burned in ovens to keep the disease down. It really struck me because I never knew that fact also I didn't know that the Nazis could be that cruel.
3) Here is my question: Why do you think Laurie was so shocked by the film? Would you be shocked too?

1) I felt really sorry for Betty Ann. She was a complete outcast when she took a step into that school. The one that struck me the hardest was when they made fun of her stories and I love to create stories. Just because she found something interesting doesn't mean you have to hate it because it's not what your used to. They all thought she was from another planet.
2) I would have stood up for her when they made fun of her stories. Also I've been in her shoes lots of time. I've been called "four eyes, "smart girl," and "chocolate" so many time that ignore it or stare people right in the face and say "You wanna say that again." Also I would have wanted to get to know her and hear her stories.
3) The moral of the story is that when you call people names you'll never know what it will do to them. When you think they're ignoring you they might be tearing up inside. Just because no one stopped and got to know them. Betty Ann was a new kid and they ripped her apart and didn't know what they were doing.

Bonjour!
1) In Humanities class today we read a short story called "Seventh Grade." I really liked it when he was trying to act like he knows french. Like la me vava me con le grandma or Frenchie oh wewe gee ie September.
2) I could really relate to that because you know you've done something stupid, but you try not to show it so you don't suffer the embrassment. Although in the end you end up embrassed anyway. Still you feel like you wish you'd never raised your hand

Hi its moi, (that's french for "me")
1)In my Humanities class we read a short story called Test. It's about a young man named Robert Procotor and he's driving along minding his business when a blue limo crashes in to him. Then he crashes into another car and he sees a young girl sleeping in in the passinger's seat . Anyway, make a long story short he crashes into the car with the sleeping girl. Next he wakes up in a chair in a familiar looking room. Basicly he was in a dreaming the whole time. It was just something the goverment does right before they give the kids they're license. The instructor says "Just leave the money and you'll get your license" So Robert did and just when he's about to walk out the door to men dressed in white grab him and say "Your not well you didn't pass the test" While Robert being pulled away he shouts "I'm still dreaming right? This is still a dream?" And the the to men say " We have on idea kid" That really struck me because were the white dressed me real people or part of the dream if this was really was a dream. It was really confusing. It was if the story would never end!! It still leaves me scrathing my head.
3) I think it was real life because the "test" was he would reject the license because the thought of killing the little girl would be branded in his mind forever. So he would have to live with that burden for the rest of his life. I think he should have should have rejected it. Maybe next time he'll think twice (if there is a next time).
2) I think it was a good idea to make young adults know what's like to be in an accident. I mean I wouldn't send him to the nut house. Still it'll send a message the future drivers everywhere.

Hi welcome to my Blog. Anyway, Tuesday 11, 2007 my class and I watched Plant Earth. I liked it. I learned that snow geese fly in a flock of 2 million!! Also learned that the rain forest supplies 50% of the earth's clouds! Still I think it was interesting. You got to see the earth and its creatures in a whole different light. You feel that you're really there with the lions, tigers, and bears. Oh my! I mean you learn so much from that video. Did you know that snails breathes threw its foot. Also that a rain forest gaint must die so the rain forest can thrive. I hope you learned a little something.

The school that I go to has a drama class and we had to write plays. Well, here it is.
Mirror, Mirror on My Wall
Characters:
Megan Farmer: a 13 year old girl who needs her space, kind, but thinks she is older than 13, nice, has a soft spot for her parents. Loves to read. Has green eyes, olive skin, and brown hair.
Nagem: Physically a perfect replica of Megan except evil, rude, crude, violent, wants to ruin Megan’s life. Megan’s opposite.
Mrs. Farmer: Very protective, looks out for Megan, careful, doesn’t want her little girl to grow up. Has olive skin, brown hair and eyes.
Mr. Farmer: Loves his big girl, Likes to teach Megan the ways of the world, laid back, lets Megan live her life. Has pale white skin, red hair, green eyes, Irish accent.
Setting:
Megan is in the car with her dad, on a Sunday. Sunny day with a little breeze in Miami, Florida on the freeway at 2:00 p.m.
At Rise:
Megan looking glum and pouty, arms are crossed and slouching in her seat. Mr. Farmer is whistling a happy tune on the radio.
Scene One
Megan
(Whining) Do we have to go?
Dad
Yes, this comic book store was here when I was your age. I’m very sad that they’ll be tearing it down, but a least I save some memories and money. I’m sure they’ll some very good sales. Trust me you’ll like it.
Megan
(Mumbling) Like a cat in a room full of dogs.
Dad
Honey sometimes you got to give things a chance. Look we’re already there.
(Tires screech)
(Both walk into store)
Megan
(Looks around) Dad! There is nothing here I like.
Dad
(Shouts as if is on the other side of the stage) Give things a chance!
Megan
(Sighs) (Walks around) (Bumps into something) Huh? What is this (holds up a thick book. One thousand spells & charms, well this looks fun. (Walks over to dad)
Dad
Did you find anything you like?
Megan
This book kinda interests me (hands it to dad)
Dad
Spells and charms huh? Ok, if that’s what you want.
The other half of the stage turns into the Farmer’s home
Mom
Did you two find anything?
Megan
(not looking at mom) (walking to her room) Yeah.
Megan
(Looking through book) Wow, look at all of these spells. (Turns page) There’re healing spells, poison spells, & mind controlling spells. Too bad they’re all a hoax (turns page) Huh? This one doesn’t have a title (looks at it hard) It looks different than the others. (starts to chant spell) Evil lurks everywhere and can give you quite a scare, but evil is so close that you try not to think about it nor can you believe it is in your mirror.(Spell ends) Huh? That doesn’t even rhyme. (starts to exit stage)… (Stop walking) W…What I feel so strange. (passes out)
Black out
(Lights up)
(Megan still one floor)
Nagem
(evil like) Rise and shine sleepy head
Megan
(wakes)(terrified) Y…Y…You look just like me.
Nagem
(still evil) Yeah, that’s because I’m your reflection from your mirror.
Megan
(Runs to mirror) You weren’t kidding, I have no reflection!
Nagem
(comes behind Megan) Don’t worry (grabs Megan’s shoulders & pushes her forwards)
(Megan trips and falls into the mirror)
Nagem
Because you’re the reflection now! (laughs at Megan)
Megan
(bangs on mirror) No, please PLEASE! Let me out!
Nagem
(Still laughing at Megan)
Megan
(chanting) Let me out! (bangs on mirror)
(Megan stops banging and chanting) (starts to cry)
Megan
This is a dream, this can’t be real. (begins to pinch herself) Yeah, just a dream. (stops pinching)
Nagem
(Laughs all the way off stage)
Megan
I’ll wake up sooner or later and find myself in bed. (Starts to pinch herself again) (then stops) (drops to her knees and sobs)
End of Scene One Lights fade
Scene Two
Setting: Megan is in the mirror world that looks exactly like her room on Monday at 7:00 a.m.
At Rise: Megan is sitting down crying. She lifts her head and looks around.
Megan
Maybe this isn’t a dream. Have I gone mad! (starts to look around room) Oh my gosh! This looks like my room. (gets up & starts to walk around) Oh, look! (starts to smile) It’s my favorite book, A Girl Named Disaster. (starts to walk toward it) (Suddenly freezes) What happening. (start walking the other way) I never wanted to go to my closet! (looks out of mirror to her real room)
Nagem
How does it feel to be the reflection now?
(Megan mimics Nagem)
Nagem
Good that was a test. Now we both know that you’re the reflection now.
(Megan mimics Nagem)
Mrs. Farmer
(not on stage) Megan time for school
Nagem
Ha, I’ve been waiting all of for this. For the next six hours I get to ruin your school life. (Exits)
Megan
No, No! (Bangs on mirror) I have a history test today. It’s ninety-five percent of my final grade. (Stops banging)
(mumbles) I have to get out of here. (runs to the door and tries to open it)
(suddenly it opens)
Megan
Yahoo! (running out the door) (Stops running). Wait a minute. This is the bathroom! (sighs and rubs temples) (stops) Think I get it now. I can only go to places in the house that have a mirror. (brightens up) There is a mirror above my parents bed and my mom has the day off. She might be able to help me! (opens door) (Runs out) (stops and smiles) Yes! I’m in my parent’s bedroom. (looks through mirror) Oh no! My mom is asleep. (Megan hears a snore behind her) (turns around) Oh my gosh, it’s my mother reflection. (looks through the mirror again) Mom, MOM! Please help me. Darn it, she can’t hear me. (starts to pace back a forth) Think Megan think. (Walks toward her mom’s reflection) (gives a sly look) Mmm… (pushes the reflection on the other side of the bed) (run over to the mirror and looks through it) It works! My real mom is on the other side of the bed just like the reflection. Maybe I can use it like a puppet. (Runs to reflection and starts to push it off the bed)
(Reflection plops on floor
Megan
(looks through mirror) Yesss! I did it. (run to reflection) (picks her up)Whoa! Mom’s reflection weighs a ton. (drops the reflection) (huffs & puffs) This will take forever. (wipes brow) (sits down) It is harder than I thought, but I have to come up with a different plan in order to get out of here. Think Megan think. (perks up) The sink! (stands up) I could get cold water and wake her up. (runs to the sink)(turns it on) (cups her hands fills her hands up water) This will work I know it will (runs to reflection) (pours on reflection)
Mrs. Farmer
(in shock) (sits up) Oh my god! What happened and why is the sink running. (stands up) I must have left it on, but I don’t remember using it.
(Mom’s reflection mimics)
Megan
Mom! Mom, it’s me Megan (bangs on mirror) I’m in the mirror. Mom, help me.
Mrs. Farmer
(acts as if she can’t here her) (peers out window) Oh look! Megan is back from school.
Megan
No! Mom that’s not me.
Mrs. Farmer
I better get dinner ready
Megan
(stops banging) (Sits down) My plan was a disaster (cries)

At Rise: Standing looking glum. Starting to cry.
Megan
Will I ever get out here? (sighs) Well, I better go back to my room. (leaves parents bedroom) (freezes) (walks toward mirror to her real room)
Nagem
(evil) Did ya miss me?
(Megan mimics)
Nagem
(sarcastic) Your teacher is really happy with your grades. (starts to laugh)
(Megan mimics)
Nagem
I guess you know what it is like to be the reflection. Always doin’ what the original does. (starts to shout) Well, I’m the original now! I control you now!
(Megan mimics)
Mr. Farmer
(rushes through the door) Meg are you all right in here. Who were you yelling at and why?
Nagem
(turns her back to Megan looks at Mr. Farmer) (calmed down) Yeah, I’m alright. Just a little stressed from the history test today. That’s all.
Mr. Farmer
Ok, but you’ve been acting very strange lately.
Nagem
Really dad, I’m fine.
Mr. Farmer
If you say so. (walks out the door and closes the door behind him)
Nagem
(looking at Megan) Your dad is one smart cookie (evil smile)
(Megan mimics)
Nagem
Now I’m gonna tell you that you better get used to being the reflection because I’m not going back.
(Megan mimics)
Nagem
Well, (sighs) I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but gettin’ bored. Whatcha got in here.
(Megan mimics)
(Nagem turns her back to Megan)
Nagem
Is this all you got? Books, books, and more books. (picks up book) (Reads out loud) The Young Man and the Sea. Ew. (flips through book) What kinda crap is this. The editor can’t even do his job. Well, I’ll do it for him. (starts ripping out pages from the book)
Megan
No! Stop, those are my books.
Nagem
(still has here back to Megan) You got enough. All of them are stupid and vile. (start picking up more books and tear out pages)
Megan
(looking out of mirror) My books! My beautiful books. You’re trashing them. Stop! (banging on mirror)
Nagem
(starts to throw books) Ha! It is fun trashing your room.
(Suddenly a book flies at the mirror and breaks it. Megan falls out of the mirror with minor cuts and scrapes)
Megan
I’m free! (starts to smile) Thank goodness, I’m free. (she spots the spell book) That book got me into this no it is going to get me out. (lunges toward book)
Nagem
No! I’m not going back (lunges for book)
(Both wrestle for the book)
Nagem
(pulls Megan’s hair)
Megan
(Megan screams) ( Megan slaps Nagem so hard that she leaves an imprint) I’ve got! (hold up the book) Now to put you away for goo-
(Mr. and Mrs. Farmer charge in)
Mrs. Farmer
Megan, honey are you all right. We heard screams (freezes and stares)
Mr. Farmer
Why are there two Megans? (stares)
Megan
I’m the real Megan. She is an imposter (points at Nagem)
Nagem
No! She is just trying to fool you I’m the real Megan (points at herself)
Mrs. Farmer
Well how can we know?
Meagn
(looks around) (looks at spell book in her hands) Reflection Megan where did this book come from.
Nagem
Um… (scratches head) A creepy old lady’s trailer.
Mr. Farmer
Now we know who the real Megan is. ( balling fist)
Megan
No dad, I can handle this. (opens spell book)
Nagem
No! (pushes down Megan and grabs the spell book) Ah Ha! (holds up book) (starts tearing out pages)
Megan
No!! (gets on fours and starts picking up pages) (picks up a page and smiles) I’ve found it! I found the page.
Mrs. Farmer
Well, read it all ready. I want this monster out of my house!
Nagem
I’m not a monster! ( pushes down Mrs. Farmer)
Mr. Farmer
How dare you touch my wife!
Megan
Stop, dad I can handle this. (looks at page) (reads spell) Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the evilest of them all. The heart of courage has now risen. Send evil back to its prison.
Nagem
No! You cold hearted witch, I told you I’m not going back!
(Suddenly Nagem is flying back into the mirror. The broken glass flies with her. Nagem goes back into the mirror. While the broken glass fits in its place.)
Mrs. Farmer
Well, I’m glad that’s over.
Megan
Me too, there is one more little test. (Megan walks toward mirror and lifts her hand.)
(Nagem mimics)
Megan
It works! She is the reflection now.
Mr.Farmer
Good, (he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a lighter and hand it to Megan) Now, burn those pages, all of them.
Megan
Alright, but I’m hungry.
Mrs. Farmer
Wonderful! I’ll make some pot roast for dinner. First eat then burn pages.
(Everyone laughs and exits)
(Lights fade )

.Here is some of my funny stories that I can come up with in 15 min. So... here it is.
Bad Boys + Bad Fish = Revenge
A young man has been sent to the hospital from being poisoned at Luna Shump's famous Thai restaurant called Chomp Stix. The twenty-six year old owner and chef of Chomp Stix is going to trial next weekend. The most interesting part is she did on purpose. Ms. Shump put raw fish in her most popular dish, Salmon and Noodles. We did an interview to find out why she it and how this will affect her restaurant. We found her in the back of the kitchen filing her nail looking completely calm.
All we got out of her was “He knows what he did” We did a background check on the young man and saw that he was Ms. Shump's boyfriend. “The young man will be fine” said the doctor “But I don't know about the relationship.”

Maximum Ride
Rating: ***** (out of five)
Imagine if you were kidnapped the moment your were born and you were shipped away to a lab where the sickest "scientists" played with your body and put things that don't belong. Maybe like... WINGS! I hope that's never happened to you, but Max (yes its a girl)(14), Fang(14), Nudge(11), Iggy(13), Gasman(8) (Gazzy for short),and Angel(6). These six kids where sent to a lab called The School. The good news is they just escaped. The bad news is the Erasers are on their tail. Erasers are like werewolves only they can change at will also they look so human that Max and her friends can never tell a harmless human from an Eraser. This is a thrillering, a turn pager, a flashlight and under the blankets kind of book. Trust me on this one. I recomend this book ages 11- 16 because they can relate to this book better. Younger children might find it a little to violent. Still its a wonderful book and you'll be so sad when you're finished (I know I was).

My Book ReviewThe Lion, the Witch, the WardrobeBy C.S. LewisReviewed by Vivian PhillipsRating: (4 out of 5)Four children named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are sent to the house of a family friend to escape World War II. Lucy is homesick and she explores the mansion that they live in. Lucy enters a room with only a wardrobe. Trying to find some “alone time” she enters the wardrobe. When she enters the wardrobe inside she finds a forest, and she meets a fawn named Mr. Tumnus and has tea with him also he saves her life from the White Witch. Lucy thought she had enough adventure for today, so she ran out and told the others. Of course they didn’t believe her (would you?). One day all four of them went inside the wardrobe to escape an angry house maid for interrupting a meeting. They all hopped inside and finds themselves in the same forest that Lucy found herself when she first went inside, but for some reason they can’t get out! Also there is some kind of war going on in the forest. Why? Read and find out.The book is suspenseful, funny, and sad. The book is fantasy, but you relate to the character. Also there is just a touch of magic. Not like Lord of the Rings elves and wizards, but just enough to make it magical. There is a shocking twist and some betrayal too.I recommend this book to 8-11 year olds. I think they can relate to it better. Maybe it is their “style.” Some people think it is an imitation of Lord of the Ring. I disagree; this book has its own unique flavor in many ways. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down!
